It uses both power tracks and power packs .  We run Fly and Ninco cars along with the Artin set cars.  The Artin cars are pretty smooth runners with the Mercedes CLKs being far better than the Porsche GT2s.

The layout dimensions are 18 feet by 4 feet but there is enough track between the two sets to expand it out to 20 feet.  I just got two lap counters from Artin that I am planning on installing but the tracks were missing the key electrical components.  Artin tells me that the replacements are on their way.  The total cost for the layout including the tables, aprons, and other materials were a little over $300.00
