Jonathan C. Harrison's Layout
64' of Eldon 1/24 scale track using Parma controllers, Trakmate
timing system, and dual power supplies w/dual relays. The relays are
hooked to the timing system to be turned off in case of a crash by that
driver via a stop button at each driver station. This makes reaction of
the driver critical as the other car can continue until power is cut.
The table is 12' and 13' in length and 5.5' in width. I
constructed the start/finish line from aluminum which houses two
automotive dome lights to trigger the sensors for the timing system.
Bushes
are triple expandable foam painted dark green, grass is green wood chips
mixed with latex clear (use dark green as base coat), cones are ear -
exam pieces from local health supply store and painted orange, chicane
is 1/4 round with red tape for stripes then clear coated, foam crash
barriers, hills are created using Styrofoam which soon will be grassed
same as the infield.
