HO Scale Slot Cars

A very strange Tyco 1978 Firebird Trans Am slot car. This has the color scheme for the 1982 Trans Am but is on the 1978 body style. Most people mistake this body style in general as a 1979 but it actually is a '78. Right below it you can see the more common and easy to find 1982 Firebird Trans Am in the same color scheme. This one better replicates the "Turbo" Trans Am hood and style.

Some common colors for the 1978 Firebird include: Black/Gold Bird, Red/Black Bird , and Chrome/Red Bird. The US-1 Truckin' Dummy Car with the Tow Truck is a harder to get piece. The White/Red ones seem to be harder to locate as they were possibly set only items. A rumor is said of a rare green and gold version but I never saw one.

Being out of the Tyco line for over a decade, the 1956 Custom Nomad returns. The one pictured to the top is the older Curve Hugger version and below is the current (1998) limited edition release with a 440-X2 chassis.

The first ones came in a metallic red and a white top which featured a tilt hood. Just imagine how many of those were damaged from wrecks! Anyway, they then went to a fixed hood on later versions such as the Curve Hugger and X2. I think both of them look sharp. Another one to look out for is the red / white one that was released a year or two ago.

Pair of Team Slot 1/32 Slots Cars:

Team Slot 1/32 Slot CarsI wish to thank MAC van Keulen from Holland and John from the UK in giving me more info on these cars.

These slot cars come from Spain. The Seat Toledo is the car on the left. It's basically built on a VW chassis from what I've been told. The Citroen ZX car is on the right. Both cars are actually front wheel drive but the slot car versions are rear wheel drive. They are fun to drive and have Pittman type motors.
