I am moving my project along to replace my 1/32 Riggen layout with the wider and larger Carrera Exclusiv 1/24 track. This way, I have the option to run some 1/24 slot cars that I build up from model kits, etc. I have to wait for some of the track to arrive to get started. I plan to include a banked curve at one end and possible work out the use of the wide track aprons that have as well. The site will keep you up to date on my progress. I guess it is my Y2K - 2000 slot car project :)
Some items in the swap meet section can now be purchased using the Buy It! system. This gives you the opportunity to buy items I have for sale in the swap meet using your credit card. Be sure to check out what's there now up for grabs :)
The Special RadTrax Reviews section is up and running. We take a look at FLY's new 1/32 Porsche Test Car.
In the Tips Section, working on a model kit body guide for Parma FCR chassis.
More photos have been added to the gallery including the cars from the 1/32 Artin 4 lane set.
Artin has a new Taurus out in both HO and the 1/48 "Battery Operated" scale. Some HO sets are at KayBee Toys for $29.99 each which include two new Ford Taurus stock cars in generic markings. Possibly can be purchased direct from Artin USA, will keep you posted. They hopefully will do the same one in 1/32 scale, I surely hope they do :)
EJsHobbies has some nice 1/24 Strombecker Lotus 30 and Chaparral 2 kits out for $48 complete. Great for some vintage racing :) They include their new 1/24 adjustable chassis which is also available for sale as a RTR or bare chassis - another great chassis for model kit conversions into slot cars. Their releases include: repro adjustable! brass 1/32 chassis (2 types), 1/24 chassis, some 1/32 Strombecker based kits - Ford GT, Chap 2D coupe, Ford J - two 1/24 kits, etc. Tons of neat stuff at great, reasonable prices - you can reach them via the resource listing maintained by Jack Stinson.
Parma is rumored to be working on some brass 1/32 chassis as replacements for Ninco, Fly, Scalextric cars. They are said to use the current running gear from the plastic chassis. This gives us a chance to use these chassis with bodies, model kits, etc. Keep watch in the coming months here to check out photos and a review when they are released.
For 1/24 and 1/25 scale slot car fans, we have some nice 2000 model kit releases coming from AMT, Monogram / Revell, and others. This includes a '57 Chrysler 300C, '71 Dodge Charger RT, '70 1/2 Baldwin-Motion Camaro, '60 Ford Starliner, '70 Torino, '69 Ford Talladega stock car, some more pre-decorated kits which will allow for much easier conversions, and many more oldies, goodies, etc. Too bad we can't get them to do us some kits for 1/32 scale :(
I am working on a special reviews section sponsored by RadTrax. Check back soon for more details and my initial review which will be a FLY Porsche 1/32 slot car...
Reproduction AMT and Monogram 1/24 chassis will be available shortly through Slot Car Garage, check this section or the swap meet for more details.

A new web site is being constructed at www.vintageslotcars.com This site will feature new old stock 1/24 1/32 slot car kits, bodies, parts, etc. Check it out when you have some time.
Boscov's Department Stores in my area for Pennsylvania got in some more nice Artin 1/32 sets. First one has the same cars as the GT Champions except for a different track layout with some more running room. The second one is the Formula 1 set that comes with the electronic lap counter. Hey both sets are good buys for under $100.00 Buy some for the cars, extra track, etc. to combine with the new 4 lane 1/32 set. Remember to look for the 1/32 markings on the box - you can tell anyway since the sets are much larger than the battery operated things.
I received my Artin 4 lane 1/32 set today from JCPenney. You can order one for $99.99 + shipping online from their web site at www.jcpenney.com Item number is XU671-0412A Team Race Set. Just put it in the form for catalog items as they do not have it online yet in their toy section. You get four new Artin cars: Mercedes CLKs (2) and Porsche GT2s (2) Check back soon for some photos and a complete review. Another must have set from Artin...
Sorry for no updates to Slot Car Garage but I am currently down sick. I am slowly recovering so don't expect too much information for some time until I get better enough to work on some sections and take more photos of some slot cars / projects.
Good news for HO as some new Model Motoring slot cars are out as well as the Playing Mantis Thunderjets :) Keep watch as when I get better, I plan some reviews of these new cars.
The 1/32 Cobra Daytona kit is now being shipped by EJs Hobbies. This is not for beginners but is well worth it to build up a nice 1/32 Cobra Daytona. This is using an original Cobra body from Auto Hobbies with original and reproduction parts. The power comes via a Plafit Fox motor.
Expect some more releases from Model Motoring Inc in their HO slot car line. The samples look great and I can't wait for these to be released.
Many people have requested some shows listings here so if you have anything to report about slot car shows being held in your area, please email me the details.
The UFHORA HO Nationals was held at Lugnut Raceway this past weekend starting on Thursday, July 15 running to Sunday, July 18. See the UFHORA site for race results and more details. I stopped by on Sunday and everything was running smoothly. I have to give thanks to all the racers, officials, and the personnel at Lugnut. They were all very friendly and courteous to everyone. Setting something up like this is hard work and they did a great job with it :)
Artin is said to have a 4 lane 1/32 planned for 1999 which includes the GT1 Porsche and a new Mercedes CLK racer. We will have to see what comes out of this set. It is possible that Artin could be a contender. Now if they would only listen to us and release their Mustang / Firebird / Camaro in 1/32 scale. JCPenney should be carrying this Artin 1/32 set.
RadTrax has donated some new prizes for the contest. The grand prize will be a limited edition Chrome Panoz 1/32 scale slot car from FLY, second place prize is the FLY 1/32 Gold Viper, and finally the third prize is the 55 Chevy model kit from Monogram.
It was announced that Scalextric will be coming out with a 1/32 VW Bug...the new Beetle to be exact. WOW!!! We will have to wait and see what comes out of this, I hope they do a nice job.
The classifieds system is now up and running, free feel to post your ads concerning slot car racing and collecting. Hopefully in the future, I will be able to upgrade this feature to include photos as well.
More reviews are coming soon!!!
Model Motoring has some new collectibles including a license plate and new sets of aluminum wheels for HO Thunderjets.
Rumors are flying that Playing Mantis HO cars will be here for August / September.
Check my reviews section for the BlackHawks HO tires.
Announcing the first contest from Slot Car Garage, design the '55 Chevy Bel Air. More details are coming soon for you to enter your own design and win a prize donated by RadTrax. RadTrax is donating a 2nd Aniversary Special Edition FLY 1/32 GOLD PLATED VIPER GTS-R slot car for the top prize.
Something special is coming out as a 1/32 slot car in stock and cabriolet versions. I am not allowed to reveal too much from my source, sorry :(
I got a letter from EJ's Hobbies stating that the 1/32 Cobra Daytona kit is delayed. I was going to post their letter on here but I can't find it at the moment.
The Plafit 1/32 chassis is out and you can take a look at it on the RadTrax web site in their online store. Looks pretty nice but the price is what really kills it :( For about the same price, you can get a nice brass chassis from EJ's that is adjustable and includes everything that is needed with a body!
For web sites in the web ring, please remember to update your code ASAP as my old site will soon be closed. In the next week or so, I will check out each site in the ring to make sure the new code is there and correct. My web ring page includes the new, updated code for www.slotcargarage.com
Hopefully the Playing Mantis and Model Motoring HO cars will be here for us to enjoy and love...
