Test Drive Observations:

So what do you get when you combine an old 1960s body with the current plastic 1/32 home racing chassis?  A match made in heaven.  This body is very well detailed with clear and precise markings including the dark brown on the bottom halves of the car.  The body is from the old Monogram mold from what I was told but I do not have an example to compare it to.  Why should a company spend money on new tooling when the old molds are just as good.

The metal push-on wheels are done with nice detail and excellent Firestone tires.  These tires are very well made with a sticky type compound similar to silicone.  They grip the course well without much fuss or dirt accumulation.

This MRRC chassis has one of those new shiny metal Neodymium chassis magnets for better handling but I was surprised at how little did I have to push the car for some speed.  It held it's own around the course well and was a rocket down the main straight.  This one is a must if you wish to do some racing with vintage style cars using magnets.  I presume you can remove the magnet but why?  It does not hug the track like FLY cars but still helps for better handling and traction.  A big plus with this car is that the magnet and chassis does not make the car noisy while running which is a characteristic of most FLY brand cars.

For you enthusiasts that remember the age of brass and metal chassis, you may replace this with a brass chassis from Monogram or EJ's repro.

So is there really anything wrong with this one?  You might not like the traction magnet   I will possibly use this one for vintage car 1/32 scale racing since it handles nice and goes great around the course.  A great car for the money - get one today :)  Don't pay big bucks for the older Monogram one to run on the track, get this one instead.

P.S.  For you COX fans, yes this has COX sponsors on it's flanks...
