Here are the lineups. We selected which cars would run in each race based on the fact that none of us was up to driving two cars at once. We then considered interesting match-ups. The handicapping system kept the racing close. In all cases, finishing order was about who drove best. Result and details of each race can be found under the "Results" button above.

Jim's Chaparral 2E's moving wing proved entertaining in qualifying.

Paul Serrett, one of the recipients of a Best Marshal Award.

Earl Wilson was our other "Best Marshal".

The Pizza was tasty and HUGE, the Chinese food was great, but somebody has very odd taste...

Come to the next Dino Derby... We had a great time!
Cars featured in our preview:
Jim's 1/32 Cheetah was at the Dino Derby for all to see, but was not entered. Since there were few 1/32 cars to compete with Jim only entered the one produced by event sponsor EJ's Hobbies. Jim will continue to bring a wide assortment of cars to match up against whatever shows at future Dino Derby events. So bring what ever you have... There is probably something to race against in Jim's box of tricks! This Cheetah is a completely authentic mid 1960s scratchbuilt car, featuring fearsome Pittman can power, and a handmade brass tube/sheet frame.
Speaking of Pittman Power, here's another car from Jim, based on the 1960's Dynamic magnesium chassis and Pittman 196 open frame motor this car runs like clockwork on the Santee hillclimb, but is actually set up for Carrera plastic tracks. Note the magnets added to the chassis, the only recent parts on the car.

An favorite of Jim's is this 1971 brass anglewinder with Porsche Psychedelic 917 paint scheme he painted. With silicone tires an a falcon motor, it's a very satisfying car to drive. This car came close to winning it's race at Dino Derby, but got unlucky ad got "collected" early.
