Test Drive Observations:
This car is fantastic to drive and a great piece. These cars and parts from Cartrix are just becoming available in the United States. They were only formerly available overseas from other sources such as where I got this example from. The case is unique to Cartrix as you can store extra parts such as wheels, axles, motors, etc. in the bottom part. The car sits on a hinged lid and you can open the compartment below to store the extra parts in. A nice idea if you decide to upgrade the car, you can store the original or spare parts below.
I really love this car and the way it drives, almost as nice as the Pro-Track Spider 1/32 chassis. In fact, it got close to the record times it set. The car is definitely one you would run against a FLY Dodge Viper or one of the faster stock FLY cars. The car has only a slight occurrence of "oversteer" or fishtailing. The backend likes to get a little wiggly if you give it too much throttle coming out of a curve but most of the time it sticks to the track pretty good. The handling is fantastic and the traction magnet system does not bog the car down like some of the FLY cars. The car is also very quiet and smooth, thanks to the smooth and precision drivetrain with the front-mounted engine. The weight distribution is good in this car and the wide silicone type tires in the rear provides nice traction for the car.
Getting down to the detail of the car, it is fantastic with BMW Z3 Roadster on the front of the car and a nicely detailed European style license plate on the rear of the car. The finish is very nicely done and the hardtop fits the car well without any major problems. The interior of the car is also done right with a detailed left-hand drive dash using decals and fully figured driver.
The car gets a 5 out of 5 tires Best Buy rating from Slot Car Garage because of its excellent detailing, great handling, and the overall construction of the car. This makes it a very nice "street style" 1/32 slot car for racing on your slot car layout. Highly recommended car to race against the other fast cars out there from FLY, Pro-Track, etc.
Slot Car Garage Review Rating: 5 out of 5 tires!!!
