Finally, here is a new book on the current hobby of racing and collecting slot cars at home. This book covers both the 1/32 and HO scales. I think this one is a must have for anyone into the hobby especially for the new ones - read on to see if this book is for you as well.

In the past five years so with the advent of the Internet,. we have seen a resurgence of the slot car hobby at home. Many people are now getting back into the hobby, many are discovering it, and many are sticking it out for the long run. It seems that slot car racing in the World has grown over the years. From the 1980s where Tyco HO cars seem to rule to the 1990s where 1/32 was trying to come back to the current era where we have tons of different scales and even Carrera offering true 1/24 scale slot car track for racing at home. There are many sites out there for the slot car hobby but none really give all the information you need if you are a newbie in the hobby. First off, there are sites out there to help people but nothing to put it all together something of which this book tries to do. Is it worth it, read on to find out - I think this will be the best $20-25 or so you will ever spend for the hobby.

This soft-cover book is great, you will not regret it. There is chapters in here that covers the various slot car tracks out there for building up your own 1/32 and HO layouts. He lists the Pros and Cons of each which is fairly accurate from what I can tell - great resource there. Tips on building and creating 1/32 slot cars. The various HO slot cars out there. Info on organizing your own races, brief mention of lap counters, etc. Sources for tracks, cars, etc. Details and information on the various slot car companies and even lists tons of stuff like track designs, cars, racing, driving techniques, slot car terms, how a car drives, how to do some modifying, how to wire up your slot car track, and many, many topics and resources for home slot car racing and collecting.

What is great about this book is that it is good for anyone - novices and pros. I even found this book interesting with my knowledge so I think it is a must have for anyone but for the novices and newbies - BUY IT - this will answer most of your questions and help you get on your way. Now, I did find a few minor, minor mistakes but it's nothing serious to worry about plus you will always not know everything and mistakes do get through so I am not going to downgrade this book. With over 200 photos and illustrations, most of which in color, clearly printed text which is easy to read, great writing from one of the old timers in the hobby. This covers today's home slot car racing and collecting and is a must for us all. Can't wait for volume 2 and the related slot car magazine coming out :)

This one is a getting a 5 out of 5 tires Slot Car Garage Best Buy Rating!!! I can't find much wrong with this book, the price is right, and is filled with tons and tons of information for racing and collecting slot cars at home. Buy this book today and you will not be disappointed - great for anyone interested in the slot car hobby.
